Stripped

Privacy Policy

Effective: 7 July 2026 · Applies to the Stripped browser extension
by Florence Publishing Ltd (niallcodes).

Stripped does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything it does happens on your device.

What Stripped stores (on your device only)

This data lives in your browser's extension storage, never leaves your machine, and is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

Network requests

Stripped makes exactly two kinds of network request:

  1. Ruleset updates. It periodically downloads the current list of known tracking parameters — a JSON data file — from our server. This is a read-only request; nothing about you, your browsing, or your links is sent with it beyond what any web request inherently includes.
  2. Problem reports you choose to send. If you click "Report a link problem" and press Send, the report contains only what the form shows you: the site's domain, the problem type, an optional parameter name, an optional note, and the extension and ruleset version numbers. No URLs beyond the domain, no personal data, no browsing history. Reports are used solely to improve the ruleset and are deleted within 90 days.

There is no third kind. No analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no accounts.

What Stripped can technically access, and what it does with it

To clean links the moment you copy them, Stripped runs a small script on the pages you visit. That script only reacts when you copy something, only looks at the text you copied, and only to remove tracking parameters from URLs in it. It does not read, record, or transmit page content.

The optional "browse-clean" mode rewrites page URLs locally in your browser via Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API. Those rewrites happen entirely on your device; the URLs are not sent anywhere.

Stripped never reads your clipboard. It only writes cleaned links to it.

Permissions, briefly

Stripped requests only the permissions its features need: context menus for the "Copy clean link" items, storage for your local settings and the cached ruleset, alarms to refresh that ruleset, offscreen and clipboard-write to place a cleaned link on your clipboard, activeTab to read the current tab's URL when you click the popup, and host access so the copy listener can run on whatever page you copy from. No page data is collected or transmitted through any of them.

Children

Stripped is a general-purpose utility, collects no data from anyone, and is not directed at children. Because nothing is collected, no data about children (or anyone else) is ever gathered.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the change will be described in the extension's changelog before it takes effect.

Summary: No accounts. No analytics. No tracking. Your settings and statistics never leave your device. The only requests Stripped makes are a read-only ruleset download and reports you explicitly choose to send.
